Necessary commitments, pending challenges

Today in Diario Financiero newspaper, our tax associate, José Luis Campino comments on the agreement between the Defensoría del Contribuyente (Dedecon, for its initials in Spanish) and the Chilean Internal Revenue Service (SII, for its initials in Spanish), which promotes improvements in the criteria for Reviewing Audit Actions (RAF, for its initials in Spanish) in order to reduce tension between taxpayers and the Treasury: “Under this agreement, the IRS committed to strengthening taxpayers’ right to present evidence in administrative procedures that affect them, and to ensure that all submitted documentation is properly considered when making a decision, without exceptions”.
