Today in Diario Financiero newspaper, our Director of Tax Litigation, Patricio Casas, comments on the initiative that seeks to address exclusions and inequities in the debate on territorial equity, as well as contributions to municipal funds:

“Postponing the general revaluation process is -without doubt- positive, as it provides an opportunity to address criticisms of the current process and to avoid increased litigation before the Tax and Customs Courts regarding this type of dispute, which often stems from errors attributed to the existing property tax assessment system. Likewise, it is worth remembering that it is always possible to request an individual correction of an appraisal if there is an unrecognized depreciation.”
