Tax Proposals of the Presidential Candidates

On Sunday, November 16th, Chile will vote to elect part of its Parliament and the country’s next President, who will take office on March 11th, 2026, when Gabriel Boric’s term ends.
Representing the ruling coalition (Unidad por Chile) is the Communist Party candidate, Jeannette Jara. Leading the polls in the opposition is Republican José Antonio Kast, followed by Evelyn Matthei (UDI) from the Chile Vamos coalition, then Franco Parisi (Partido por la Gente) and Johannes Kaiser (Partido Nacional Libertario). There are also two independent candidates: Marco Enríquez-Ominami and Harold Mayne-Nicholls, as well as Eduardo Artés, an independent affiliated with the Partido Comunista Acción Proletario.
If no candidate obtains over 50% of the vote, a runoff election will be held on Sunday, December 14th.
