With an outstanding career in the corporate and business legal world, both in Chile and abroad, Gerardo Cruzat joins Fischer & Cía. to lead the Transactions area.
Fischer & Cía. consolidates the trajectory, experience, and recognition of its partners -Carolina Collantes, Cristóbal Herrera, Isabel Espinoza, Juan Cristóbal Ortega, Boris León and Alex Fischer- adding Gerardo Cruzat to the team.
Gerardo is a lawyer from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and LL.M. from Duke University. He comes to reinforce the Business area of the firm, contributing with his experience in the fields of Banking & Finance, Mergers & Acquisitions and General Corporate Advice.
Gerardo Cruzat (41 years old) headed, as a partner since 2016, the Banking & Finances practice of Prieto Abogados (from 2012 to 2016 he was a Senior Associate), advising national and foreign clients, with experience with securities regulators , insurance and banking; as well as in international relations. In this way, it has acknowledged at diverse international rankings: Chambers & Partners LA highlighted him in 2019, 2020 and 2021 as “Up & Coming” in the Banking & Finance category, as well as in the Global edition for 2019 and 2020; The Legal 500 since 2018 classified him as “Next Generation Lawyer” in Banking & Finance and as “Recommended Lawyer” in Corporate, M&A, Projects and TMT; Best Lawyers also distinguished him, since 2018, in Banking & Finance and Corporate and M&A, among others.
Recently, Gerardo Cruzat led the Presidency of the Board of the company responsible for the financial business of the Corona group, and the Vice-Presidency of the remaining operating companies of its retail business. Previously, he was Senior Associate at Philippi, Yrarrázaval, Pulido & Brunner (now PPU Legal), International Associate at Clearly Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP (New York) and Uría Menéndez (Madrid).
